Learning English in IrelandIreland, an amazing country - A wonderful place to take English courses. For people from all ages. Ireland, West of England, is located directly off the coast of Wales and Northern England.
There are plenty of English Language schools in Ireland and everybody, from children to retirees, is able to study English there. Ireland has started giving English courses to foreigners mostly with juniors. They are still more and more to come in the summer in the various colleges rent by English Language Schools. But Ireland also now caters for Adults. I have visited several English Language Schools that provide very good services to executive students too, in Dublin, Galway, Ballina or Cork. Moreover, the English + Golf programs attract more and more people, mostly executives, couples and retirees.
Irish people are very nice and always glad to welcome foreign people. They have a very strong culture and will let you take part to their social life, full of Celtic music, pubs… Ireland is a great place to visit, with its beautiful landscapes and parks, the famous Connemara…If you like having a walk in the countryside, watching birds or fishing, Ireland is the place you should choose to take English classes. Nevertheless, if you rather would like to go surfing or horse back riding, do not go further, Ireland is also the place to be! You will indeed find in Ireland the best European Surf spots as Bundoran in Donegal and in county Sligo but also many equestrian centres. The English Language schools will be glad to help you practising sport.
The very quiet and green Ireland can also be very busy. In fact, Dublin is the largest city, really nice to live in. It is a famous city with more than 1 million inhabitants. With many pedestrian streets, Dublin is a lively city. A perfect place to study English.
Dublin has many English Language Schools to offer. Most of them very dynamic, always friendly. Cork is the other largest city in Ireland. Very busy with tourists. It makes me think of Brighton in England. May be because Cork is also located on the extreme south of the Island. May be because of its many pedestrian streets with shops and restaurants. Among the many English Language schools there, I have quickly visited Cork English College. Even in February the school is full with students laughing in the corridors.
Last but not least, Ireland also has an association of recognised English Language Schools. MEI-RELSA for Marketing English in Ireland-Recognised English Language Schools Association. The association deals both with marketing and standards. All members must be recognised by the Department of Education. A proof of quality and reliability.
Most of the English Language Schools in Ireland on the Language-Schools-Directory are members of MEI-RELSA. They are naturally all members of the Language-Schools-Directory “quality-schools” accreditation scheme.
