 General French courses

This course is for all students at all levels. French language Schools usually propose courses from false beginner to proficiency.

General French courses are usually between 15 to 20 hours per week. Some time you get lower hours per week and these can be then available as evening courses. Usually courses are in the morning. In the afternoon you have either free time or activities can be either included or proposed as options.

Make sure you have several Teachers during your course. Teachers must be fully qualified to teach French to foreign students.

General French courses are available at all ages. Some Schools propose courses for 7 years old. Others to 50+. Most common average age is mid twenties. But Really people from all ages, all countries and background study French.

 Intensive French courses

This course is for all students at all levels. French language Schools usually propose courses from false beginner to proficiency.

Intensive French courses are usually between 25 to 35/40 hours per week. Be careful that the School speaks in full hours. If not ask how much time is a lesson or a course. Some times courses last as low as 45 minutes. Courses are in the morning and in the afternoon you may be able to choose options that interest you like working on comprehension or French for special interests (like medicine, business, law, aviation, etc.)

Make sure you have several Teachers during your course. Teachers must be fully qualified to teach French to foreign students.

Intensive French courses are available at all ages. Some Schools propose courses for 7 years old. Others to 50+. Most common average age is mid twenties. But Really people from all ages, all countries and background study French. Only condition is that you need to be highly motivated or have just a small time available to do the course.

You will make more progress than in any other courses.

 Business French courses

This course is for students with a minimum intermediate level. French language Schools usually propose courses to proficiency.

Business French courses are usually Intensive French lessons, between 25 to 35/40 hours per week. Be careful that the School speaks in full hours. If not ask how much time is a lesson or a course. Some times courses last as low as 45 minutes. Usually morning courses consist in General French courses and afternoons are for Business French courses.

Make sure you have several Teachers during your course. Teachers must be fully qualified to teach French to foreign students.

Business French courses are available for adults only. Some course are more specialized for executives while other are more for young students finishing their studies and about to start working. Look for this difference and enquire to the School.

One to One French courses can be taken alone or in combination with French courses in groups. Be careful that the School speaks in full hours. If not ask how much time is a lesson or a course. Some times courses last as low as 45 minutes. One to One French courses are a mean to work specialist French such as French for medicine, French for business, French for law, aviation French, etc. Ask the School about what they can propose.

You can prepare all kinds of exams. Most popular are: Ielts and TOEFL to enter Universities, Cambridge Exams such as Cambridge First Certificate, TOEIC for Business French.

Examination French courses are available at all ages. Some course are more specialized for University students such as Ielts while other are more for juniors such as the PET.

Some exams evaluate just your writing skills while others evaluate all aspects of the language.

 French courses + Work Experience

This course is for students with upper intermediate level. French language Schools usually propose courses up to proficiency.
French + Work Experience are usually between 15 to 20 hours per week. Some time you get lower hours per week and these can be then available as evening courses. Usually courses are in the morning. In the afternoon you have either free time or activities can be either included or proposed as options.

Make sure you have several Teachers during your course. Teachers must be fully qualified to teach French to foreign students.

French + Work Experience courses are available for all countries.

The work experience consists either in paid jobs or unpaid internships. Paid jobs are usually in the catering industry (hotels, restaurants, tourism, etc.) while Internships can be in any industry and any kind of work.

Usually Students start with the French course then finish with the Work experience. But you can also study in the morning and work outside study time. There is also a course called “Sandwich course” in which you have French courses at the beginning and at the end of your stay and in between you do you Internship or job.

This is anyway a very good mean to make rapid progress in French and use it in real life.

This course is for students with intermediate to upper intermediate level linimum. French language Schools usually propose courses up to proficiency.

French course + Au pair are usually between 15 to 20 hours per week. Some time you get lower hours per week and these can be then available as evening courses. Usually courses are in the morning. In the afternoon you have either free time or activities can be either included or proposed as options.

Make sure you have several Teachers during your course. Teachers must be fully qualified to teach French to foreign students.

French course + Au pair are available for all countries.

Being Au Pair consists in takin care of the family children and in exchange you get free accommodation and free meals. You have free time while you can take your French courses.

This is anyway a very good mean to make rapid progress in French and use it in real life.

This course is for all students at all levels. French language Schools usually propose courses from false beginner to proficiency.

French courses + Sport are usually between 15 to 20 hours per week. Courses are in the morning. In the afternoon you practice the sport chosen. It can be tennis, golf, Horse riding, football, surfing, etc. or a combination of different sports.

Make sure you have several Teachers during your course. Teachers must be fully qualified to teach French to foreign students.

French courses + Sport are available at all ages. Some Schools propose courses for 7 years old. Most common average age is for juniors.

This course is for juniors up to 18 years old and usually up to 16 and at all levels. French language Schools usually propose courses from false beginner to proficiency.

Junior French courses are usually between 15 to 20 hours per week. Usually courses are in the morning. In the afternoon you have activities.

Activities consist in visits and excursions and at week ends longer trips to major points of interest. Sports are part of the program as well as disco at night usually once a week.

Make sure that your children study with a good mix of nationalities so that they speak only French during their stay. Be careful when using local agents that many times send groups of same nationality.

This is a very good way to become really fluent in the language. After a while students usually share accommodation together which is more fun and cheaper.

Academic Year courses are from 24 weeks to a full year and more.

 French courses for Teachers

There are two types of French courses for Teachers: French for native French speakers and French for foreigners.

French for native French speakers are known as TESOL or TEFL courses. These courses consists in a few weeks of intensive tuition that lead to a diploma that will allow you to teach French worldwide usually in private Schools. A higher diploma is the Celta.

French for foreign Teachers of French are also known as refresher courses. European Union French teachers can have these courses financed by the comenius programme.
