Accessible location
Set in a beautiful 80-acre site in an unspoilt village, Felsted School offers a stimulating and wide-ranging education to children on a co-educational boarding and day basis. Felsted Preparatory School (4–13) and Felsted School (13–18) are close to the major towns of London, Chelmsford, Colchester and Cambridge and within 15 minutes of Stansted International Airport. The pupils benefit from a caring atmosphere, high expectations and fantastic facilities.
Challenge and opportunity
Felsted School offers exciting opportunities for boys and girls to achieve their full potential across a wide range of disciplines. The younger children are encouraged to discover and develop their talents in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Then, freed from the pressure of 11+, they move confidently forward to Felsted School, academically and emotionally equipped to meet new challenges and responsibilities.
Breadth and balance
A strong academic tradition is balanced by exceptional provision in the performing arts, sport and extracurricular activities. With a staff to pupil ratio of 1:10, Felsted’s highly qualified and dedicated staff can ensure that every child is treated as an individual, problems are quickly addressed and their strengths are recognised and developed from an early age.
Innovation and excellence
Education here is exciting, rigorous and demanding. With a curriculum that far exceeds national requirements and with the introduction of the International Baccalaureate from 2006, Felsted is established at the forefront of educational thinking, constantly adapting and taking advantage of technological innovation. Each stage is a new voyage of discovery and, as they gradually take more responsibility for their own study, the boys and girls face each educational milestone with increased confidence.
Home from home
Happiness and social confidence are key to our children’s success. Great emphasis is placed on pastoral care, and the dedicated team at Felsted provide close individual care for every pupil. House accommodation includes a variety of study-bedrooms, small dormitories, studies, common rooms and recreational facilities. Senior students have their own space in the sixth-form centre where they can get together to study and relax. At weekends, pupils have the time to study, relax and take part in many activities including debates, quizzes, play rehearsals, musical activities and social events.
Please do contact us to arrange a visit. Further details can also be found on our new website – www.felsted.org.
