Independent fully co-educational boarding and day school, ages 11-18. Beautiful rural setting on edge of Salisbury Plain.
At Dauntsey’s School every pupil is encouraged to make the most of his or her talents and interests in a lively and caring environment. Within the family that is Dauntsey’s, where almost half of all pupils are siblings, boys and girls are able to realise their full potential morally, spiritually, culturally and academically. Our aim is that they will emerge from the school as constructive, compassionate and responsible members of society.
Academic standards are high (in summer 2005, 78.9% of A-level grades were A or B: 67.1% were A* or A). Drama, music, art and sport all flourish and ocean sailing in the famous ‘Jolie Brise’ – overall winner of the Tall Ships Race 2002.
Dauntsey’s School was founded in West Lavington, Wiltshire, almost five centuries ago, under the will of Alderman William Dauntsey, Master of the Worshipful Company of Mercers.
To lead the way in the modern world of Education is Dauntsey’s firm resolve. Our wish is to guide and encourage pupils to develop and progress academically and socially, enabling them to take their place in society as valuable citizens.
Walk around the School today and you will be struck by the happy and friendly atmosphere. Talk to the pupils and staff, listen to their views and opinions, feel the energy, purpose, and the determination to do well.
