What makes Brentwood special?
Brentwood School is one of the few independent schools that teach boys and girls separately from the age of 11 to 16. There is ample opportunity for students to participate together in extracurricular activities outside the classroom. In the sixth form, students are taught in mixed classes. This arrangement is popular with students and parents alike, and offers great educational advantages.
Brentwood School is an Anglican foundation that accepts pupils from the UK and all over the world. The School prides itself on its strong community spirit and particularly values the international outlook that its overseas students bring.
Students at Brentwood are encouraged to find a balance between academic study and extracurricular pursuits. There are numerous opportunities to pursue extracurricular activities in the areas of sport, music, art and drama. With access to the largest volunteer Combined Cadet Force in any UK school, a Community Service Unit and a popular Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, pupils thoroughly enjoy their after-school activities.
Brentwood’s strengths
Some 95% of A-level students go on to higher education, with many gaining places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities each year. The School has excellent information technology facilities, which are used to support many different subject areas.
The School is establishing an international reputation for music, with bands, choirs and orchestras performing to critical acclaim in many different countries. The Drama Department is equally strong and has won a national award for one of its productions.
Sport is one of the School’s many strengths, and particularly soccer, fencing, netball, hockey, cricket, cross-country, tennis and squash. Students regularly take part in these sports at county, national or international level.
Is Brentwood the right school for me?
Students at Brentwood are encouraged to perform to the highest standards academically in a supportive environment that aims to equip them with the skills they will need for later life. If you are prepared to work hard to take advantage of the opportunities which Brentwood School has to offer, we would be delighted to hear from you.
